Wedding Invitations Etiquette and Email
January 11, 2008
Well… according to Emily Post, it is ok to email the “save-the-date” invitation notifications but not to the ceremony… Definitely send out “save-the-date” invitations either via email or snail mail if you are planning a wedding on a holiday long weekend or will have a large number of people traveling to your wedding from out of town. “Save-the-date” invitations are usually sent out 6 to 9 months before the wedding.
Emily Post is the definitive name in etiquette and social graces. The Emily Post Institute was established in 1946 and has since published books on everything from business etiquette to Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette and Emily Post’s Wedding Planner books.
